FAQ Frequently Asked Questions

Q. Are all your items used?

A. No, but many items are one of a kind pieces like some of our pottery, artwork, and jewelry. Some are old and some are newer acquisitions. Many items are antiques so the older the better (smile). New items will be marked as new, or sealed in original packaging, or some other description of it as an unused product.


Q. Why do you have a Customer Login system?

A. Our system allows two types of customers. "Repeat customers" can create a free account and it will make your shopping and checkout process easier. In the future we will be creating Silver and Gold buyers accounts that will entitle you to automatic discounts in the future. Our second type of customer is our "Seller". Sellers will be granted discounts on our products, and their account access privileges allow them to upload and sell products.


Q. What if my order is damaged in shipment?

A. Every order is shipped priority mail, with delivery confirmation. We ask that you notify us within two days of receiving your package if it was damaged. This allows us to file a claim with the post office. We take every precaution to package your item for a safe delivery because we want to ensure your satisfaction. We also don't want a one of a kind item destroyed. If you ever have a problem with a delivered item, please call us and we'll get it resolved for you.

Q. Why should I buy a product from you?

A. We could tell you that we're really nice people and we do a lot to protect animals and the environment. We could tell you that our products are carefully selected and many are truly one of a kind. All of this is true, but the main reason to buy from us is we truly believe you will derive years of pleasure from the gifts you buy here.

Q. What if I have a question about an item or want to see more pictures?

A. Please call us anytime. We would be delighted to answer any questions you have and can usually send you additional pictures of items. We are in the process of modifying our catalog to show multiple pictures of products. If in the interim you would like answers or pictures, please call!

Q. How do I sell my products through FarOutThings.com?

A. We have almost completed the Seller signup and administration system to allow access to your own free online store. In the meantime, please call us to setup your account for you over the phone to start selling. Remember it's free to signup, and a lot of fun to boot! .
